Who we are
Fuel Safe UK Bunded Fuel Tanks Ltd manufactures steel bunded fuel tanks from our workshop in Nelson, Lancashire, supplying businesses, farms and construction sites across the UK.
Our story
Fuel Safe UK was founded in 2000 by Mark Shepherd, and has grown steadily over more than two decades to become one of the UK’s fastest growing bunded fuel tank specialists. The business is now run by his son, Sam Shepherd, who has continued that growth while keeping the same hands-on, workshop-first approach the company was built on.
Our team
Our workshop team brings over 30 years of combined experience building bunded fuel tanks, and has built up a substantial portfolio of work across every sector we supply, from small businesses needing a single 500 litre tank to large-scale operations running 100,000 litre installations. Chances are, whatever you need, we’ve built something similar before.

How we build
Every tank starts with our in-house CAD design software, which lets us plan and document bespoke builds precisely before any fabrication begins. From there, tanks are manufactured using high-grade 43A steel and finished in our onsite spray booth, meaning we can deliver any custom colour to an industry-leading standard, all without relying on a third party. Every tank is built to comply with current UK safety regulations.

We’re based at Unit 4 Riverside Industrial Park, Brunswick Street, Nelson, Lancashire, BB9 0HZ, manufacturing on site and delivering UK-wide.

Our commitment
Every tank comes with a 20-year warranty as standard, with an extended warranty option available on top of the standard one-year manufacturer’s cover. We also offer annual servicing to keep tanks compliant and performing properly for the long term.
