The brief
Essex Tankers approached us with a request for a bespoke fuel tank designed to fit a specific footprint within their yard. A key requirement was for the cabinet to be built into the side of the tank, allowing fuel delivery wagons to pull up directly alongside for convenient access.
To meet these requirements, our team developed a custom layout, including repositioning the internal bund to accommodate the unique design. Additional custom features included a secondary dipstick, added at the customer’s request, and an OCIO digital gauge, which was carefully calibrated to match the internal structure of the tank for accurate level monitoring.

We also supplied a complete 70LPM 3-part pump kit, which included a 10-micron filter and a pulse output to enable integration with Essex Tankers’ existing fuel management system.
The tank was delivered on time and to spec, and the client was extremely pleased with the final result. This project not only met their operational needs but also inspired a new design option we now offer to other customers requiring tanks tailored to restricted or awkward spaces. It showcases our commitment to delivering smart, space-efficient fuel storage solutions.
